Hi everyone! If you’ve recently been in a reading slump or are interested in getting into reading I highly recommend you read “Normal People” by Sally Rooney. If you’re not into reading but need a new show to watch, you can find Normal People on Hulu. It’s my favorite show and one of my favorite books. It explores how two people can help shape one another. There isn’t a specific plot, it’s a story of two people, Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan, learning how to navigate their relationships while struggling with communication, mental health, social class, and college transition. Some people I’ve recommended this to found it to be a slow start but loved it in the end. I think it's a beautifully written book, really relatable, especially for people who struggle with being vulnerable, relationships, or finding their way in the world. One of my favorite quotes from the book is, “Marianne, he said, I’m not a religious person but I do sometimes think God made you for me.” If you do end up reading/watching it I’m more than happy to talk about it. I could talk about Connell and Marianne’s relationship for HOURS. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! <3
